DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

General

  • Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free of contaminants.
  • Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease per SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.
  • Treat surface as per ISO 8504 prior to priming.

Immersion Condition (Steel)

  • Abrasive blast clean to min. Sa 2.5 (Swedish spec).
  • If oxidation occurs before application, re-blast.
  • Recommended profile (Rz): 50–75 µm.

Atmospheric Exposure (Steel)

  • Blast clean to Sa 2.5.
  • If blasting impractical: power/hand tool to achieve St3/St2 (Swedish spec).
  • Use suitable zinc/epoxy primer or intermediate coat (clean, dry, roughened if aged).

Concrete

  • Cure minimum 3 months.
  • Surface roughened, free from laitance/contaminants.
  • Remove dust by suction or air blast.
  • In non-critical areas: water jet washing + wire brushing acceptable.

Note: Surface must be thoroughly dry before primer for optimal performance.

Application Conditions

  • Substrate temp: ≥3°C above dew point, ≤50°C.
  • Relative humidity: <85%.
  • Good ventilation required in confined spaces.
  • As with all epoxies: product may chalk/discolour in exterior exposure (not affecting anticorrosive performance).

Mixing

  • Supplied in two packs (base + hardener).
  • Stir separately; loosen settled material if required.
  • Add hardener gradually into base while stirring.
  • Consume within pot life.
  • Avoid part mixing.
  • Add thinner only after mixing & induction time.
Mixing Ratio (by volume) Base : Hardener = 4 : 1
Induction Time 30 min
Pot Life @ 30°C 8 hrs

Excessive thinner reduces sag resistance.

Application

Airless Spray

  • Thinner: T-141
  • Volume: 0–15%
  • Nozzle orifice: 0.41–0.48 mm (16–19 thou)
  • Nozzle pressure: 20–24 MPa (200–240 atm; 2800–3400 psi)
  • Cleaning: T-141

Brush/Roller

  • Thinner: T-141 (0–10%)
  • Cleaning: T-141

Notes:

  • Chalking/discolouration on exterior exposure is normal.
  • For concrete: apply first coat as primer with extra thinning at 25–50 µm to fill porosity; subsequent coats at 100–125 µm DFT.

Cleaning

  • Do not allow product to remain in hoses/guns.
  • Clean immediately with T-141.
  • Flush spray equipment periodically.
  • Dispose surplus material/containers per regulations.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Maximum performance after full cure.
  • Tar bleeding can occur when overcoating with other paints → consult Asian Paints PPG rep. for topcoat advice.

PACK SIZE

  • 20 L (Base: 16 L + Hardener: 4 L)
  • 4 L (Base: 3.2 L + Hardener: 0.8 L)
  • 1 L (Base: 800 ml + Hardener: 200 ml)

STORAGE & REGULATORY INFORMATION

  • Shelf life: ≥12 months @ 30°C in unopened pack (inspect thereafter).
  • Store cool and dry.
  • Flash Point: ≥24°C (Base & Hardener).
  • VOC: ~325 ± 25 g/l (per US EPA Method 24).
  • Product Weight: ~1.40 ± 0.05 kg/l (depending on shades).

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Avoid inhalation of vapours/paint mist and contact with skin/eyes.
  • Ensure forced ventilation in confined spaces.
  • Use respiratory, skin, and eye protection during spray.
  • Refer to MSDS before use.
