If brush or roller application is used, more coats will be necessary to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment. Pressure is for a material temperature of 20°C [68°F].
Film thickness
Specification range | Dry film thickness | Wet film thickness | Theoretical spreading rate |
---|---|---|---|
Low | 80 micron [3.2 mils] | 123 micron [4.9 mils] | 8.1 m²/L [330 sq ft/US gal] |
High | 125 micron [5.0 mils] | 192 micron [7.7 mils] | 5.2 m²/L [212 sq ft/US gal] |
Recommended | 80 micron [3.2 mils] | 123 micron [4.9 mils] | 8.1 m²/L [330 sq ft/US gal] |
Product may be specified in another film thickness than indicated depending on purpose and area of use. This will alter spreading rate, drying and curing time and overcoating interval. For best performance, avoid excessive film thickness. Overthickness must be closely controlled and never locally exceed 250 micron [10 mils] DFT. On irregular surfaces it is recommended to employ special care in avoiding over application.
