The data provided is for guideline purposes only.
The physical values are subject to normal manufacturing tolerances, colour and testing variances.
Volume solids are as per ASTM D 2697 (air-drying method).
Actual drying/overcoat intervals depend on film thickness, ventilation, humidity, and temperature.
Data based on 30°C and 65% relative humidity.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation

General

  • Surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from contaminants.
  • Remove dirt, dust, oil, and all contaminants that could affect adhesion.
  • Remove oil and grease as per SSPC-SP1 solvent cleaning.
  • Check and treat surfaces per ISO 8504 before priming.
  • Suitable for zinc primer or epoxy primer systems.
  • For aged epoxy coatings, roughen surface before painting.
  • For weathered zinc primers, remove white rust via thorough water scrubbing or high-pressure cleaning.
  • Apply a mist coat when overcoating zinc-rich primers.

Application Conditions

  • Substrate temperature: ≥3°C above dew point, ≤50°C.
  • Relative humidity: ≤85%.
  • Ensure good ventilation in confined spaces for proper curing.

Mixing

  • Supplied in two packs; stir base and hardener separately.
  • If settling observed, loosen material with hand stirrer, then mix with a power-driven stirrer (low RPM).
  • Add hardener gradually into base under continuous stirring per ratio below.
  • Once mixed, consume within pot life. Avoid part mixing; reseal lids tightly if done.
  • Add thinner only after induction time. Over-thinning reduces sag resistance.
Parameter Value
Mixing Ratio (by volume) Base : Hardener = 5 : 1
Induction Time 15 minutes
Pot Life @ 30°C 2 hours

Application

Volume of Thinner 5 – 10%*
Nozzle Orifice 0.48 – 0.53 mm (19–21 thou)
Nozzle Pressure 19 MPa (≈190 atm; 2800 psi)
Cleaning Thinner T-141

Brush / Roller

Parameter Specification
Purpose Stripe coating & small areas
Thinner T-141
Volume of Thinner 0 – 10%*

Note: Depends on recommended film thickness and application conditions.

Cleaning

  • Do not allow paint to remain in hoses, guns, or spray equipment.
  • Clean equipment immediately after use with Thinner T-141.
  • Flush spray equipment periodically during the day.
  • Dispose of surplus material and containers per local regulations.

PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Maximum film build in one coat achieved via airless spray.
  • Air spray (pressure pot) may require multiple cross-spray passes for desired build.
  • Brush application achieves 75–100 µm per coat; multiple coats may be needed.
  • As with all epoxies, APCODUR MIO / 415 will chalk and discolour on exterior exposure—this does not affect anticorrosive performance.
  • Maximum performance achieved after full curing.

PACK SIZE

  • 20 L (Base: 16.67 L + Hardener: 3.33 L)

STORAGE

  • Shelf Life: Minimum 12 months @ 30°C (original unopened pack, inspect after).
  • Store in cool, dry, shaded conditions away from heat and ignition sources as per local regulations.

REGULATORY INFORMATION

Property Value
Flash Point Base: ≥24°C; Hardener: ≥24°C
VOC Approx. 225 g/l (depending on shades) – per US EPA Method 24
Product Weight Approx. 1.79 kg/l (depending on shade)

SAFETY INFORMATION

  • Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist and contact with skin/eyes.
  • Provide forced ventilation in confined spaces.
  • Even with ventilation, respiratory, skin, and eye protection should be used during spraying.
  • Refer to Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) prior to use.
