Thinning may be necessary in the case of very long spray hoses and/or paint temperatures below 15°C/59°F. This will cause lower film build and longer drying time. Alternate reducers such as acetone may be used to reduce product without adding VOC.
Add 08EJB (21102 Fast Spray Reducer) as required. When temperature is over 20°C/68°F, use 08320 (JB 21092 Medium Reducer). Add 08BJB (JB 21093 Slow Reducer) to reduce dry spray and orange peel, if required. 085JB (JB 21078 Special Urethane Retarder) can be added to help add a wet edge for spraying large parts.

Product may be specified in another film thickness depending on purpose and area of use.

Application conditions

  • Apply on a clean and dry surface with a temperature at least 3°C [5°F] above the dew point.
  • Provide adequate ventilation during application and drying.
  • Surface temperature must be above 7°C [45°F] and below 44°C [111°F] during application and curing.
  • Temperature of product must be above 15°C [59°F] during application.

Application remarks

  • Two coats of the topcoat may be necessary to obtain full hiding power.

Drying and overcoating

Product compatibility

  • Previous coat: Ureprime 2.8, Chem-O-Gard Low VOC Primer, Chem-O-Pon Epoxy Primer.
  • Subsequent coat: Acrylithane 2.8 or as per Hempel specification.

Drying conditions

  • Maintain sufficient ventilation during application, drying, and curing.
  • Avoid condensation on freshly applied coating.

Overcoating details

Other remarks

– Addition of 99056 accelerator (JB 99011) at the rate of 1.0 fl. /oz. per mixed gallon will shorten dry times to spray overcoat at 2 hoursand to touch at 2.5 hours.
– Addition of 99056 of 2.0 oz. per mixed gallon will result in an overcoat time of 1.5 hours and to touch in 2 hours.
– Overcoating interval: Minimum 3 hours; maximum 2 weeks. Low temperature, high humidity, poor ventilation, and thick films will retard drying.
– DTM Additive: Recommended dosage is minimum 5% to 10% byvolume. Mix thoroughly to incorporate the additive before application.
– Hempel’s Specification supersedes any recommendations given in the Product Data Sheets
