A two component solvent based moisture curing inorganic zinc silicate coating
• Designed as a primer coat for application in aggressive environments
• Good resistance to saline and marine / offshore atmosphere
• Excellent water and solvent resistance
• Can withstand substrate temperatures from -90°C to 400°C under normal atmospheric exposure conditions
• With suitable top coat, provides excellent corrosion protection for steel substrate up to 600°C

| Colour | Grey |
| Gloss | Matt |
| Recommended DFT / Coat | 50 – 75 µm |
| Theoretical Coverage Capacity | 12.0 sq.mtr/l @ 50 µm 8.0 sq.mtr/l @ 75 µm |
| Drying time at 30°C | Surface dry: 30 minutes Hard dry: 16 hours Full cure: 7 days |
| Overcoating interval at 30°C | Min: 16 hours Max: Unlimited (surface must be free from contamination, corrosion, zinc salts) |

Notes:
• Surfaces must be dry, clean and free from contaminants
• Remove dirt, dust, oil, grease as per SSPC–SP1 solvent cleaning
• Surface should be checked and treated as per ISO 8504 prior to priming
• Steel: Abrasive blast clean to min. Sa 2.5 (Swedish Std.)
• Galvanised steel: Sweep blast to roughen and remove zinc salts
• Heavily pitted steel: Not acceptable
• Substrate temperature ≥ 3°C above dew point but < 50°C
• Relative humidity must be above 50%
• Provide good ventilation in confined areas
Supplied in two packs:

|---|---|
| Recommended thinner | T-144 |

*Depends on recommended thickness and application conditions
• Do not allow product to remain in hoses, gun or spray equipment
• Clean equipment immediately after use with Thinner T-144
• Keep spray gun at proper distance for smooth, wet coating
• Thinner quantity must be optimized for correct film formation
• Humidity-sensitive:
• Excess film thickness >125 µm → Mud cracking may occur
• Low film thickness affects performance
• Not suitable for immersion in alkaline (pH > 9) or acidic (pH < 5) liquids without suitable topcoats
• Overcoat only when the coating is completely cured
• Surface must be clean, dry, free from soluble salts and zinc corrosion products
• Zinc silicate primers form white rust if exposed too long; remove fully before overcoating
• Apply a mist coat as first pass to reduce solvent popping
• Recommended topcoats:
– Epoxies
– Chlorinated rubber
– Acrylics
– Polysiloxanes
– Heat-resistant silicones
– Others as advised by Asian Paints PPG
