Hempaprime Core 500 is a high solids, low VOC epoxy coating. It forms a hard and tough coating and provides long lasting barrier protection in coating systems for mid to severe corrosive environments. It has relatively low viscosity for easy application.
Recommended use
Hempaprime Core 500 is recommended as a self-primed, surface tolerant paint system or as an intermediate in heavy duty paint systems where low VOC and high film build are required. For atmospheric service as an intermediate or as a primer in coating systems for new construction and maintenance.

Product requires heavy duty spray equipment; spray hoses shall be as short as possible. To minimise dry spray at high temperatures, extra thinning may be necessary. Lower paint temperatures may require extra thinning, which will result in lower film build and slower drying. If brush or roller application is used, more coats will be necessary to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Spray data are indicative and subject to adjustment. Pressure is for a material temperature of 20°C [68°F].
Film thickness
| Specification range | Low | High | Recommended |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dry film thickness | 80 micron [3.2 mils] | 200 micron [8.0 mils] | 125 micron [5.0 mils] |
| Wet film thickness | 98 micron [3.9 mils] | 246 micron [9.8 mils] | 154 micron [6.1 mils] |
| Theoretical spreading rate | 10 m²/L [407 sq ft/US gal] | 4.1 m²/L [167 sq ft/US gal] | 6.5 m²/L [265 sq ft/US gal] |
For best performance, avoid excessive film thickness. Product may be specified in another film thickness than indicated depending on purpose and area of use. This will alter spreading rate, drying and curing time and overcoating interval.
